Railings
Your deck is going to need hand railings and deck railings for style and safety. Our designers meet in home and help you pick the perfect railing material to match your deck design. With so many choices (wood, aluminum, glass, or cable we have products for every style and budget.
Safety & Style
Choosing the right railings for your deck is an important aesthetic design choice. You can use and combine different styles to compliment or match your home. Sometimes a completely different base material results in a spectacular look and design.
We are professional deck builders who take projects and see them to completion. In business since 2005 we have thousands of satisfied Ottawa homeowners who look forward to using their decks each year.
Composite Deck Railing
Composite deck railings are made from plastic materials. Similar to composite decking they have a major advantage of not being vulnerable to moisture, but the drawback is the increased cost. These products give the homeowner zero maintenance and still have the appearance of real wood. The colour selection of composite railings is limited when compared to wood since you can paint wood any colour or stain.
Aluminum Railings
Aluminum is a popular choice for railings because the metal is non-ferrous which means… no rust! Aluminum railings allow for more time between coats of paint and when spots do appear touch ups are easy with a can of spray paint. Aluminum is lightweight and durable but because of it many applications it is an expensive product.
Wooden Railing
Wood provides a timeless and traditional look for your Ottawa deck. It is customizable in that you can paint or stain it in almost any colour you dream of. Wooden railings are available in pressure treated, and cedar. For more information about the specifics on these woods see there pages (linked). As per natural wood, too keep it looking beautiful and unweathered you need to sand and stain/paint it every so often.
